With so many worthy challengers to the Best Bali Beaches category, this is certainly a difficult task.
However we’ve done our best here to name our favourite Bali beaches and explained why these beaches have made it into our Top 5. So which are the top 5 best Bali beaches to unwind on?
Best Bali Beaches Number 1 - Padang Padang
Padang Padang is a small beach on the bukit close to the famous Uluwatu. It is famous for it world class wave for surfers with a long tube ride, breaking just up to the left of the beach. The beach has pristine white sand, good swimming at high tide and access to 2 surf breaks for advanced surfers and one for beginner surfers on days when it’s not too big. Padang Padang has become popular with the young international crowd and known for its “people watching”. Just watch out for the local monkeys too who tend to try to steal anything left unattended.
Bali Beast Beaches Number 2 – Kuta
We can’t go past the famous Kuta beach as a great place to hang out, buy a beer, have a massage, learn to surf, haggle over buying a sarong and enjoy a Bali sunset. No trip to Bali is complete without a visit to Kuta beach
Bali Beast Beaches Number 3 – Geger
Geger is located on the east coast of Bali in the Nusa Dua area, just 15 minutes drive from Kuta. There has been a proliferation of hotels built in the area over recent years however the white sandy beach remains a great place to hang out for the day. The area available for day visitors has several cheap restaurants offering seafood and lots of other cuisine. You can rent an umbrella, a Catamaran or kayak, go for a swim, walk to the temple or go for a surf on the outer reef.
Bali Beast Beaches Number 4 – Nyang Nyang
Nyang Nyang is on the southern end of the bukit and the beach lies at the bottom of the biggest cliffs in Bali. There is a steep road all the way to the beach (only suitable for motorbikes) or you can walk down. There are not many facilities but you can usually buy a drink, have a swim and enjoy the spectacular views.
Bali Beast Beaches Number 5 – Amed
Amed is a small village with lots of accommodation for divers on the north east coast of Bali. With Mt Agung rising beautifully behind and a scenic ocean view road winding from the nearby town of Amlapura. Whilst the beaches themselves are black sand, the local views and great swimming, snorkelling and diving get Amed onto our list of Bali best beaches
